About me
I’m an experienced content designer, copywriter and marketing communications professional who has worked with product design and marketing teams ranging from start-ups to small mom-and-pop businesses to large public companies.
My background
The early days
I have a lot of “range” (nod to the author David Epstein). My early career included working at a media relations firm representing high-tech companies. Followed by an integrated marketing agency for real estate and architecture firms. That led to the marketing department of an international real estate company promoting their brand and helping realtors start their sales and marketing careers.
I moved into a role with a consumer app and website (GasBuddy) looking to revamp and grow their brand and introduce new products. I was responsible for everything from content marketing to copywriting to UX/content design. I even learned to code so I could help when they needed an extra hand.
Most recent work
Most recently, I spent 5 years at Care.com. Given the number of audiences and products ranging from consumer to enterprise to its subsidiaries of LifeMart and HomePay, it felt like many different companies all in one. Given that I was often the only content designer on staff, I learned to get up to speed fast and adapt my skills quickly to handle a lengthy list of projects.
Ongoing love of freelance work
Between those roles, I continue to do freelance work because I know that many businesses can’t justify full-time marketing help, a writer, or someone who can help design their website. But they often need the help (and appreciate it) the most. There are always people looking to communicate better and reach their audience. I’d love to help you, too.
When I’m not working
I’m a mom to two kids and a dog named Ace. I’m active in my local community and hold an elected position in my small town. I like to ski, travel to New England beaches, and long walks are my therapy. I advocate for senior dog adoptions and try to dabble in anything that makes me feel artsy.
